Glenda Akin, 84, retired from Westmoreland High School, TN, in 2024. Akin worked there for 61 years and 43 days. She started as a teacher and later became a librarian.

A bus driver from Brisbane, Australia, spotted a koala dodging traffic on a busy city street on December 13. The koala had scrambled up a light post, and the driver worried it might fall into heavy traffic below.
